Reporting directly to the CEO, you are responsible for the overall management of all doctors and allied healthcare individuals authorized to practice at the hospital and clinics. The main purpose of the position is to ensure a high level of professional performance by all medical staff through the continuous improvement of patient safety, clinical governance, clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Leadership & Governance:

  • Supervise all medical departments, monitor and analyse their activities. Set goals for medical departments specifying principal focus areas with identifiable actions and achievement targets
  • Bring in strong leadership skills at all levels of medical operations, ensuring high level of efficiency, quality processes, and systems approach
  • Develop the medical programs, policies and procedures needed to carry out the hospital's mission and ensures that they are implemented and followed

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety:

  • Participate in planning, developing and implementing the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Programme. Monitor quality and appropriateness of medical care
  • Ensure compliance by the medical staff with Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Ethics, patient-care related Policies & Procedures, JCI standards, etc.
  • Participate actively in JCI accreditation process and facilitate its understanding and acceptance within the medical staff

Budget and Investment:

  • Develop and manage a budget, including presenting monthly financial reports to practice staff with the support of administration
  • Participate in the analysis of medical departments activity, cost management and utilisation of resources
  • Review all medical equipment purchase requests and participate in the Purchasing Committee

Patient-Centred Care:

  • Promote the development of a robust customer service culture
  • Help providing processes that support patients' and families' rights during care
  • Ensure that Laboratory services meet patient needs and comply with laws, standards and regulations
