Sales Manager - Ophthalmics Team

Reporting to Business Unit Manager ARV and Ophthalmics Job Purpose To manage, lead and develop a team of Professional Sales Representatives (9 based nationally) towards the achievement of BU business goals and financial objectives. Qualifications Degree within Sciences or Commerce preferred Skills / Competencies Required Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry Ophthalmology therapeutic experience will be an advantage, but is not a pre-requisite Thorough knowledge of the Rx pharmaceutical and healthcare market Computer Literacy, Communication & Presentation skills Key Job Outputs Manage a team of professional sales representatives to achieve sales budgets and objectives Development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies, and territory business plans Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and Key Customers Efficient and constructive Customer problem solving Implementation and monitoring of performance against plans and objectives Management of sales operations and resources Development of external relationships with key customers People management, coaching/mentoring and development, hiring in accordance with Company policies and procedures Monitor and maintain Team health Collaboration within the Ophthalmic team and BU, and across other BUs within Company Core Competencies Drive for results Analytical thinking Strategic thinking Decision making & problem solving Developing people Initiative Planning & organising Ability to inspire and lead a team Sound understanding of business principles & processes Ability to work cohesively with the marketing team Attention to detail Ability to manage a diverse team Collaboration with the Pharmacy and Key accounts teams Commercial acumen & Financial skills Knowledge of industry trends, competitors & market dynamics
