Resource Planning Manager

The role of the Resource Planning Manager will be to deliver robust resource, training and equipment plans for the portfolio of areas they manage. By managing a team of Resource Planning Co-ordinators, you will ensure the development and delivery of robust manpower plans, accountable for ensuring your area has the right resource at the right time in order to effectively and efficiently cover the commercial programme.

You will work closely together with the Resource Delivery Manager to manage stakeholders by jointly building strategies to improve operational performance for the most competitive cost.

Principal Accountabilities;

Responsible and accountable for the co-ordination of resource across a portfolio. This includes planning resource and training to ensure sufficient resource is available to deliver a safe and punctual operation, whilst maintaining high levels of customer service.

Lead and performance manage a team of Resource Planning Coordinators to deliver cost-effective rosters, training plans, equipment plans and tactical plans that meet operational requirements, ensuring plans are accurate and that outputs reflect operational reality and that plans are supported from a systems perspective

Experience;

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to relate closely with operational teams and develop relationships across directorates.
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills and able to present complex analysis in simple terms to a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; able to identify underlying issues to business problems
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, change and complexity whilst balancing the often-conflicting demands of planning efficiency and the need to protect operational performance.
  • Clear understanding of the business environment and commercial, operational and financial drivers.
  • Experience of resource planning and budgeting.
  • Proficient in supporting and communicating the department's objectives with the ability to generate understanding and commitment from a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Motivated with an ability to work under own initiative, detecting problems and taking the necessary actions without prompting.
  • Proven track record in dealing with complexity and ambiguity with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Experience of focused delivery against an agreed set of measures whilst working in an ever-changing environment.
